Awards Day

Cain had awards day at school on Wednesday.  I was so excited to go to Cain's awards day and see what award he had be awarded.

Cain ended up receiving the "Best Listener" award.  I'll admit that when his teacher, Mrs. Riley, called out that he was the "Best Listener" I was a bit shocked.  Not that Cain isn't a sweet and very kind child but he certainly gives me a hard time with listening to me and minding me.  His teacher carried on to say the "Best Listener" award was being given out to the student who enjoyed listening to audio and video books.  That certainly made much more sense.  Cain loves to watch movies and for me to read him a book.

It was pretty hysterical though because when Mrs. Riley said the next award was being given out to the "Best Listener" Cain threw his hand in the hair and yelled "Cain" before Mrs. Riley could even announce his name.  He had watched so many other kids already go up to receive there award and I think he couldn't wait any longer to get his.

So proud of my boy and all he has accomplished this year.

Jax's Birthday Party

One of Cain's school friends had a birthday party the same day as the school field trip.  I had a Stella & Dot trunk show and Brad was flying in from work so neither of us could take the kids.  I was sad Cain wouldn't be able to go so I had a sitter come take them for me.  I'm so glad I did because I think they both had a great time.  The sitter did great and took a few pictures for me so I could see the kids having a great time.

The day before the party I took the kids to a toy store to buy Jax a birthday present.  I asked Cain what Jax likes and said Jax likes Toy Story and picked Jax's present out all by himself.  This was the first present for a friend he picked out all by himself.  Jax's mom said he loved it and wanted to carry it to church that Sunday.  Guess Cain knows his friends well.

Field trip to the zoo

Cain's class had an end of the year field trip to the zoo last week.  Sadly, it was pouring the day of the field trip but the field trip still took place.  We just made the best of a rainy zoo day and spent our time in the reptile house.  Of course every other school and visitor to the zoo was all packed in the reptile house that day.  It was quite chaotic at times.

I think Cain's favorite part of field trips is getting to ride a school bus.  This was his 2nd time to ride a school bus and he loved it.

We had the option of checking our kids out at the zoo and taking them home with us.  I had planned to do that but then Cain quickly informed me he would rather ride the bus back to school.  I explained that if he went back he had to stay the rest of the day at school and didn't get to go home early.  He picked the school bus over his Momma...sniff..sniff...

I hadn't packed him a lunch so I told him he would have to go through the lunch line and he seemed pretty excited about that too.  He is a VERY picky eater so I pack his lunch every morning.  This was his first day to eat cafeteria lunch food and his teacher said he actually ate a few bites of a turkey sandwich which I was excited to hear.

Can't believe I have a big boy going on field trips, riding school buses, and eating cafeteria food.  How do they get so big so fast?

Callie's last day of "school"

Last Wednesday Callie finished her first year of Mother's Day Out.  She went to MDO every Tuesday and Wednesday and loved it!  I signed her up for the same MDO program that Cain went to last year.  And will sign her up again this fall.  I have no doubt she will miss it this summer.

Friends & Tea Parties

Weekend before last the Carlisle family spent Saturday night with us.  Their oldest daughter had a dance competition in Nashville so they stayed an extra night so we could all visit.  It was so great to have them here.  Callie was born a day before their youngest daughter, Eva, so it was exciting for them to finally meet.

Eva has two older sisters so with 4 girls in the house there were some very serious tea parties going on. All the girls dressed up as princesses and of course Cain was Superman.

I love that the girls really had that raised pinky perfected.

Time flies when you are having fun...

Where does time go?  I just realized it has been 6 months since I last posted pictures of my kiddo's.  How is that even possible?  I still can't believe I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old.  They keep me busy, busy, busy but it's so much fun.  Everyone is doing great.  Callie just finished her first year of Mother's Day Out this week and Cain finishes his first year of Pre-K3 next Friday.  So much has taken place this year and one day maybe I'll get around to catching up this little 'ol blog of ours.  But for now here are a few pictures of my kids.  Why do they have to grow up so fast?
