While we were in Louisiana for Thanksgiving we celebrated Callie's 1st birthday with a 'Milk & Cookies' themed party. Thanks to the internet I was able to find several 'Milk & Cookies' party ideas and in the end the party turned out just as I had envisioned.
We had the party at my parents house and instead of having cake for everyone we had tons of cookies and petit fours.
And I set up a 'milk station' with several flavors of milk for everyone to choose from.
I ended up using Starbucks frappuccino bottles to serve the milk and I think it turned out really cute. We even stuck the bottles in the freezer ahead of time so they could be good and cold for the milk.
And of course with milk you need milk mustaches!!
Callie loves food and loves to eat so I thought she would go crazy on her birthday cake. But she was very dainty and never made a big mess like I expected her to. I think she was a little intimidated with all the people watching her and singing to her. Cain heard us singing "Happy Birthday" and ran in the room and started singing "Happy Birthday" to his sister. I thought it was so sweet.
I was happy that it worked out for us to be able to have Callie's birthday party while we were in Louisiana. Cain's first two birthday parties were also in Louisiana and it always means so much to me that our closest friends and family have been with us to celebrate these special events.
Callie did get into the gifts a little more than she did the cake. She seemed to enjoy playing with her new toys as she opened them.
Her cute milk & cookies dress came www.sheshemade.com. I've ordered a couple of dresses for Callie from this website and the owner has been great to work with. Her thanksgiving dress also came from this company.
I found her party invitations and other party items on etsy. The etsy site is Paper & Lace Collections. A sweet girl named Courtney owns this site and she was great to work with. She made the invitations, cookie labels, milk bottle labels, and provided the striped party favor bags and stickers to put on them.
I ended up making the thank you notes myself and used some pictures from the party. I made a postcard that could be mailed out with the thank-you on the back and the following pictures on the front.
