Heart Walk Music Video

A week from today we will be walking in the Nashville Heart Walk.  I'm so excited to be participating this year.  I'm even more excited to report that our team "Little Heart Heroes" has 21 people signed up to walk with us and has raised $1075.00.  It's not too late to sign up to walk with our team or donate.  We would love for you to join our team and help us raise awareness.  Our starting goal was to raise $250 as a team and we successfully exceeded that goal.  We have now raised our goal to $2000.  Please consider donating so we can exceed this new goal.

I found the following video and wanted to share it with you.  I laughed out loud while watching it.  Not only is it funny, it does a great job of helping you learn more about the importance of the funds raised by the Heart Walk.  And the best part is the music video was put together by some of the physicians and staff at Vanderbilt Heart (the group that treats adult patients).  I guess not only do they treat patients...they also sing, dance, and support the Nashville Heart Walk too!

28 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along:  28 weeks & 6 days (but exactly 28 weeks in the picture)
Size of baby:  She should be approximately 17 inches long, 2.9lbs and the size of a head of cabbage.
Total Weight Gain:  24lbs
Maternity Clothes:  I'm still mostly wearing dresses so not too much maternity clothes yet.
Movement:  She moves all the time.  I love being able to look down at my belly and see her moving around.
Sleep:  Thankfully, sleep is still not a problem.
What I miss:  Can't say I miss a thing!
Cravings:  I really haven't had any cravings.  Honestly, there aren't too many foods that sound really good to me right now.  I find that I'm eating many of the same foods over and over again but can't say I'm craving them.  I've had cereal for dinner the last two nights and I've eaten salads for lunch a lot lately.
Best moment of the week:  The best moment of last week for me was when I saw Cain after not seeing him for several days.  His Mimi & Poppa (my parents) had kept him for a week. And having a good Dr's appointment last Wednesday.  I was able to hear baby girl's heartbeat which is music to my ears!
What I'm looking forward to:  Spending my birthday with my two favorite boys.

Walking for our Little Heart Heroes

The American Heart Association's Heart Walk is on Saturday, October 2. Brad and I are very excited to be participating this year. We have joined forces with the Hitchcock Family (Colby) to help spread some awareness for Congenital Heart Disease.

We would love for our Nashville friends to join us at this walk in support of Cain, Colby, and other children dealing with Congenital Heart Disease. We have named our team "Little Heart Heroes," because that is what these boys and other children are...true heroes! They only have half of a heart, but they have shown time and time again that they have twice the fight! We want you to help them in this fight against Heart Disease by walking with us, or if you are unable to attend the walk, you can always make a donation in Cain & Colby’s name.   It doesn’t have to be a large donation,  a $3, $5, or $10 donation will be enough.  As always, we truly appreciate all of the support that you all continue to give us! We are so blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives.

Please use the link below to visit Cain & Colby’s American Heart Association Web page. You can join our team to walk with us or make a donation in honor of these Little Heart Heroes. If you would like to participate but do not want to navigate the American Heart Association website, please feel free to send me a message, and I will be more than happy to register you on the site. We hope to make this a big event with lots of friends walking...the more people, the more awareness that will be raised about this horrible disease!

Feel free to email or call me with any questions you have. I hope to see you walking with us on Saturday, October 2nd. The festivities begin at 8 am, and the walk begins at 10 am at Vanderbilt...the corner of 25th Avenue and Children's Way.

If you are not taken directly to a page with a picture of Cain and Colby when clicking on the link below, then please click on "Find a Team" on the left side of the page you are taken to. Then, type in "Little Heart Heroes." Select our team name and it will direct you to our team page. At the bottom, on the right, click on "Catherine Clinkscales" to go to our page. Here, you can join our team to walk or donate money.

Big Weekend

I'm really excited about our weekend.  A group our friends are coming to stay with us for the LSU/Vanderbilt football game.  And to top it all off we are all kid free for the weekend.  That part I'm a little sad about but I know all parents need a break from time to time.

We met my parents halfway yesterday in Batesville, MS to drop Cain off so he could spend his 1st vacation away from us.  I've been a little anxious all week knowing that I will not see my baby for several days.  Let's hope I survive!  I plan to drive to my parents on Wednesday to pick him up.  I still can't believe I won't see him for 5 whole days and 6 nights!  Yikes!

About to leave to go stay with Mimi & Poppa.  He really looks sad doesn't he?
Come on Mimi & Poppa....Get me in the car seat and lets go to Louisiana.

This is a picture my parents sent me last night.  Again, he looks very sad to be away from me.
