18 month well check up

Cain had his 18 month well check up last week and thankfully passed his physical exam with an A+.  (Or at least I gave him an A+)

The following are the results from his physical exam.

Height - 30.75 inches - 8th percentile
Weight - 24lb 5oz - 26th percentile
Head circumference - 18.86 inches - 50th percentile

Based on Cain's height it may be safe to say that Cain won't be the next Michael Jordan.

The pediatrician decided to start Cain on a daily vitamin since Cain refuses to eat vegetables.  He is starting to become quite the picky eater.  The pediatrician also decided he wanted Cain to start speech therapy.  He put in a referral with Vanderbilt and told us we should hear from them soon.  The pediatrician and I are both confident Cain will be talking up a storm soon but since all he really says at 18 months is momma we decided to move forward with therapy.

Patiently waiting on the Dr.
Just checking myself out in the mirror

I think it is great that your doc is being proactive about the speech therapy. Logan was severely delayed and said no words at the age of TWO....and even THREE. I finally pushed his doc to get us in for a speech evaluation when he was 2 1/2 years old. He has had intense therapy and finally at the age of almost four has quite the vocabulary. He still has some difficulties but over all is doing so much better. I only wised we would've gotten him the therapy sooner.

i've been reading your blog for a while and finally decided to comment! i'm having the same speech issues with my daughter. she's 16 months now but our pediatrician said if her speech doesn't pick up by 18 mths then we'll start speech therapy. so glad i'm not the only one! all she says is mama, dada & uh-oh. i know she'll talk when she's ready but all her friends her age are talking!! btw - cain is a cutie!
