Cain's weekend with his Daddy

I'd like to think Cain missed me while I was in Miami but after looking at the pictures Brad took while I was gone I'm not sure Cain missed me at all! Before I left for my trip I had so many people ask me who would keep Cain while I was gone or was my mom or Brad's mom going to come in town to help Brad out. I think Brad thought it was crazy that everyone was asking these questions. I thought it was SO SWEET that Brad was looking forward to his weekend alone with Cain and that Brad knew he could handle everything by himself. And I was also very excited to see that Brad took pictures of their first weekend alone.

Months before my trip Brad kept telling me he wanted to take Cain to the zoo while I was gone so that's exactly what they did.

Look it's Cain & his Daddy! Just kidding.

And Cain looking at the alligator

"Hey Dad, this is fun!"

Cain trying to figure out how to eat a rice crispy treat.

I know Cain went to the zoo with his Daddy, and he got a balloon at the grocery store, and had his first happy meal but by looking at the next picture it's plain to see that Cain REALLY MISSED me while I was gone.

Miami girls' trip

I spent my first several nights away from Cain weekend before last. I missed him terribly but had the most wonderful, relaxing weekend in Miami with several girlfriends. I mentioned awhile back some of my friends surprised me with a getaway vacation.

I left early Thursday morning and returned home Sunday afternoon. We had a blast and even decided to make this trip our 1st Annual Girls' Trip! We decided we need to make it a priority to get away together for a long weekend at least once a year. I highly recommend it for all moms!

Here is proof that we had a relaxing trip....

Most people go to clubs in Miami. Not us! We enjoyed game night at our hotel and played Connect 4 and Scrabble. My how times have changed.

We stayed in South Beach at The Catalina hotel. It was probably one of the most trendiest hotels I've ever stayed at. We loved it.

We spent most of our time relaxing by the rooftop pool.

And the rest of the time we spent relaxing on the beach! Pure bliss!!

I'll never be able to thank these girls for taking me on this trip. They are wonderful friends and I am blessed to have them in my life!

Thankfully Brad took many pictures of his weekend alone with Cain. I'll be posting those pictures on my next post. It seems Brad had everything under control and it looked like Cain was a perfect angel for his Daddy.

Another BIG accomplishment

We have been working very hard teaching Cain how to walk. On March 23rd he finally walked across our kitchen using his walker. I can't tell you how excited we were.

A few days later I bought him another walker to use and we took it to the park to give him more room to move about. He ended up walking all over the basketball court. I can tell he is very excited about his big accomplishment and we are too!!!

Funny Face

I don't even know what to say about these pictures. This is Cain's new funny face he likes to make and it makes me laugh every time he does it.

He looks like he forgot to put in his dentures, doesn't he?

Easter Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Our Easter festivities started the weekend before Easter when we took Cain to see the bunnies at Phillips Toy Mart. Phillips Toy Mart is a wonderful old toy store that is less an 1/2 a mile from our house. Every year they have live bunnies at the store during Easter. Hopefully we can make going to see the bunnies a family tradition.

I actually think Cain enjoyed the trains more than he enjoyed the bunnies.

It's hard to believe this was Cain last Easter....

And this is what he looked like this year!

He has grown so much in a year!!

As soon as Cain saw his Easter baskets he crawled straight to them.

He seemed very curious to see what the Easter bunny had brought him. This year he had two baskets. One from us and one from my parents.

Cain checking out his Peter Cottontail movie.

Instead of hiding eggs for Cain I just put them out in the middle of our living room floor. Cain did great with picking the eggs up and putting them into his Easter basket.

Family pictures after church

The weather was perfect so we decided to have our Easter lunch outside on our picnic table. I even made it special and used our china. Using our china is easy when there is only two plates to hand wash. :)

I think Cain enjoyed the picnic as much as we did.

I usually just put Cain's food on his highchair tray but my mom sent Cain a very cute Easter plate so I decided to use it. It didn't take me long to remember why I don't put food on a plate for Cain. It's because he likes to throw the food off of his plate!

He is such a little stinker!!
