While Mom's Away...Cain will Play

Today was a first for me.....

I spent the entire day at work while Cain stayed home with our friend Margaret.

This is a picture of Margaret and Cain taken a few weeks ago during a lunch date.

I knew Cain was in great hands today because Margaret is a nurse at Vanderbilt Children's and she has helped take care of him several times when he was in the hospital.

Margaret sent me a few pictures throughout the day. As you can see he really missed me while I was gone.

Okay, so maybe he didn't miss me too much but I sure did miss him! Thanks for taking great care of him today, Margaret.

Busy Boy

I can't believe the last time I updated our blog was February 28th! I would like to say I'm not sure why I haven't updated our blog in over two weeks but I'm pretty sure I know it's due to Cain keeping me VERY busy! By the end of the day I'm exhausted. Now that Cain is crawling I feel my entire day is spent chasing him around trying to keep him out of things he's not supposed to get into. I have to admit....I love every second of it even if I am exhausted by the end of the day.

Here are a few pictures to show why I haven't had much time to update the blog.

It's because I'm either trying to keep Cain out of our kitchen cabinets. (yes I know I need to buy more locks to keep the cabinets closed)

Or trying to keep him out of the drawer on our china cabinet.

Or I'm trying to keep him out of Sadie's water bowl. (yes, I know this is gross and most of the day Sadie's water bowl sits on my kitchen cabinet but sometimes Cain just gets to it before I can stop him)

Other parts of my day are spent trying to keep him out of our guest bathroom. I try to keep the door closed but if he sees it open he gets very excited and races in to the bathroom.

And then there are times when I'm trying to keep him from climbing on to the seat of a chair in his room. He has learned to climb into this chair all by himself so I've had to put books and toys in it to try to keep him from climbing on it. Of course the books and toys don't always stop him so I'm sure I'll be moving it to another location soon.

As you can see Cain is now a very busy little boy.

I'm still working 10 hours a week for the Dispensary of Hope so I try to work while Cain is napping. There used to be a day when I could update our blog as Cain played with toys on the floor but now each time my laptop is in my lap this is what I see.....

So there you have excuses for not updating our blog in over two weeks. Hopefully it won't be another two weeks before I update it again because I have alot of blog catching up to do!!
