Running for a Cause...or Two!!

Back in May of this year a college friend informed everyone that he would be running the Disney Marathon in January 2010. He wanted to raise money for a charity but had no idea which charity to choose so he used facebook to ask his friends for suggestions. It took me awhile to reply but after many requests for suggestions I finally decided to tell him what I knew about Congenital Heart Defects. I am SO glad I did because in the end he decided to choose the Children’s Heart Foundation as one of the charities he would like to raise money for. He is also raising money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Please check out the following link to his blog ( to learn more about the two wonderful charities he is supporting and to learn how you can help him reach his goal of $3000 to each charity. Maybe we can help him surpass his goal!!! What he is doing is AMAZING!!! He had never run in the past and in 38 days he will run his first full marathon. While training for the Disney marathon he decided he would like to give a triathlon a try. So, in October he participated in his very first triathlon. Way to go Scott!!

This is a picture of his precious daughter Jenna Kate supporting her Daddy!!

Over the next couple of days I plan to share some of the facts that helped Scott choose to raise money for the Children’s Heart Foundation.

Please pass this information along to anyone you think may be compelled to help support Scott in raising money for these two wonderful charities. I know he would appreciate it very much!!! And if you are another heart parent who reads our blog please go to Scott's blog and tell him about your child. I know he would be honored to learn of other heart families considering he will be running the marathon in January in honor of children affected by CHD's!!

Again, his blog is
