Good-bye Machine

Last Friday we finally said "good-bye" to Cain's sleep apnea machine. We actually haven't needed this machine for several months now and after a few phone calls to the medical equipment company they finally came and took it off our hands. It's a good feeling to see a machine leaving our house. It makes me realize how far Cain has come over the last 8 months. We have been so blessed.

The machine on the bottom is the sleep apnea machine. We used to put leads on Cain at night while he was sleeping. The machine would sound an alarm if Cain stopped breathing or if his heart rate elevated or decreased too much. The purple machine on top is Cain's pulse ox machine. We still have this machine for now. We have this so we can periodically check Cain's oxygen saturations. The last time I checked his Sat's they were ranging from 84-86 which is very good for him (normally a persons O2 sats range in the upper 90's). This number makes me very happy considering before his last surgery he was sat'ing in the uppers 60's.

Good-bye machine. I hope we never have to see you again.
