Cain's first trip to Louisiana

We finally had a chance to take Cain to Louisiana. It was a last minute trip that turned out to be wonderful. I was nervous about how Cain would do on the 8 hour drive but he did GREAT! I actually think he likes to travel.

We traveled to Louisiana Wednesday evening after Brad finished with work. It worked perfectly because Cain fell asleep before we left our drive and ended up sleeping the entire ride home. We couldn't believe it!

The next morning we were able to surprise my Aunt Jane. Since we haven't been home she had not met Cain and my mom did not tell her we were coming in town. It was so much fun to surprise her.

Later that day Cain was able to meet a very special friend, Maggie. Maggie is a very good friends daughter who is also a 'miracle' baby. Maggie required surgery after birth and was on the ECMO machine for over 20 days. Maggie has prayed for Cain almost daily since before he was born and she was so excited to finally meet the baby she had been praying for in person. Maggie is a little miracle that has been a huge inspiration for me.

Maggie took this picture of me and her mom Kandee. Pretty good for a 3 1/2 year old.

We also took Cain by my dad's business and by my dad's church. It was fun to take Cain around and introduce him to all the people who have been praying for him for months now.

Another great perk to being back in Louisiana is getting to spend time with our friends. We love Nashville so much but we also really miss getting to spend time with our friends back home. Friday night we went out to dinner and a movie with friends and Saturday we were able to watch the LSU/Florida game with friends. Too bad LSU didn't win.

Me & Holli (my best friends little girl). I hate having to tell this adorable curly red headed cutie goodbye. I love her so much my heart could burst.

My granddad rocking Cain before we had to leave on Sunday. This is a picture I will cherish forever!!

Surprisingly our ride back to Nashville went almost as well as the ride to Louisiana. Once again, Cain did great. He napped, ate, laughed and played the whole ride home. My parents gave us a DVD player for the car before we left which really helped out. Cain seemed to enjoy watching Elmo and Baby Einstein.

Hanging out in the backseat with Cain after I finished feeding him.

A couple of times during our ride home Cain would start laughing at Sadie. I absolutely love to see him laughing at her.

My mom had a little party at her house on Saturday so friends and family could meet Cain. I'll post pictures from the party tomorrow.
