Baby Sal Cook, Jr.

In the days after I found out about Cain’s heart defects I searched the internet for information regarding Hypoplastic Right Heart and Tricuspid Atresia. In doing so, I found a girl in Louisiana named Natalie. Two weeks after we found out about Cain’s heart defects I contacted her. She had just found out that her unborn son had Tricuspid Atresia, ASD, VSD, and pulmonary stenosis. He was due only a few days after Cain. On the first email I ever sent to herI said since we would be going through this together over the next few months maybe we could help each other out with information we find out from dr's, other people, blogs, etc. We were only able to ‘talk’ a few times during those months and once or twice since our babies arrived but it was nice to have someone who knew exactly how I felt.

Monday evening I found out through a website that we are both members of that her precious baby, Sal Jr., had passed over the weekend. I cannot begin to explain how shocked I was to read this. I just sat and sobbed and it’s been all I can think of this week. My heart breaks for Natalie and her family. It is so unfair for this to happen to any parent. I don’t understand it nor will I ever! I’ll never be able to express to Natalie how sorry I am for her loss. Please keep Natalie, Sal Sr. and the rest of their family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. I cannot imagine the pain they must be going through.
