Independence Day

Cain was FINALLY able to celebrate his independence during this Independence Day weekend. It was so wonderful to break free from his 'house arrest'. It was suggested by Cain's Dr's for us to wait a few weeks after leaving the hospital to take Cain anywhere. We still need to wait awhile before we can take him to crowded places but we felt safe venturing out to our friends house for July 4th festivities.

Allison & Liza waiting to greet Cain as he made his grand entrance!
Liza & Oliva...aren't they both so cute! There were actually 6 kids at the party so it was fun watching Cain watch all the action.

Us with the Hadley's. We've been waiting a long time for us to have our kiddo's together.
Of course we had to get him dressed in his red, white and blue for the 4th. Speaking of blue...Cain's coloring really improved after his 2nd surgery but as you may can tell in some pictures...Cain is still a little blue. You really can't tell though until you see him beside other babies.
Yummy Hamburgers! A perfect All-American meal for the 4th!
Cain & his Daddy
Seriously...isn't Liza the cutest little thing?
"Daddy, I enjoy hanging out with friends. We should do this more often."
"Wow..that was fun! Who knew there was more to the world than just our house and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Where are you going to take me next?"
Cain's 'Independence Outing' actually took place on Friday night. We decided to not get carried away with having Cain out and about just yet so we stayed home the rest of the weekend. We had a nice, relaxing day. We started the day with a family walk through the neighborhood & ended the day with grilling food. You have to grill on July 4th don't you?
Cain's 1st fourth of July.

I guess the big Independence Day weekend wore Cain out.

Oh...I almost forgot...I said we started the day out with a walk. I forgot that we took a walk because we had made a family trip to Krispy Kreme for donuts. I realized as I was paying for our donuts that Faith Hill was standing next to me. I wanted to say something to her but I played it cool and left her alone. Wouldn't it have been fun to have a picture of Cain with her for the blog. :) He was in the car with Brad so he didn't even get to see her. Oh well...maybe next time.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July.

Too funny!! I had one of those moments w/ Tiger Woods at a Quiznos in Little Rock...AND you might know it was on a day that I didn't have a stitch of makeup on and by hair was twisted up on top of my head.LOL!!! Anyway, so glad to see you guys out and a bout. I'm sure Cain had a blast!!!

I'm glad you guys were able to get him out! It looks like he really enjoyed the new scenery!! It looks like Cain has some good friends to play with when he gets a little older.

It would have been very cool to have his picture made with her, but I probably would not have bothered her either. : )

Blue, pink, green... whatever color he is, he's ADORABLE! I love looking at pictures of that chubby little guy. :)
